The MTO Gas Chemical Complex (Karakul, Bukhara region) has received another shipment of equipment manufactured by Air Products and Chemicals.
A key element of the delivery was a high and low-pressure column that will become part of the methanol production process. It is 72 meters in length, weighing 235 tons, and with a diameter of over 5 meters.
For ease of transportation, the column was divided into three parts and transported on three separate trucks. The total land route covered over 6,000 kilometers through China and Kazakhstan. In Uzbekistan, the column has "visited" Tashkent, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Navoi, and Bukhara regions.
The delivery was complicated by the terrain: to cross the Tibetan Plateau, as well as the steppes and deserts of Northwestern China, special steering platforms were used to facilitate maneuvering on mountain passes and winding roads.
The equipment was manufactured at the Air Products and Chemicals facilities in Shanghai. Once installed, it will become part of a "methanol island," where methanol will be produced from methane gas. The delivered column will be used in the gas separation process, extracting methanol from the gas mixture, as well as its condensation and purification, with the capability of maintaining temperatures from minus 196 degrees to plus 80 degrees Celsius.
This successful delivery marks an important step in the implementation of the MTO gas chemical complex project, which will be a key element in the development of Uzbekistan's gas chemical industry, further confirming the reliable partnership with Air Products and Chemicals.
