The final selection for admission to United World Colleges (UWC) for the 2025-2027 academic years has concluded in Uzbekistan. This year was significant, as over 1,000 students from across the country applied to participate in the final stage, demonstrating the growing interest of youth in international education and global knowledge exchange.

The final event, held in Tashkent at the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, brought together 24 exceptional candidates representing regions such as Tashkent, Tashkent region, Namangan, Fergana, Kashkadarya, Andijan, and Karakalpakstan. The participants showcased not only their high academic knowledge but also outstanding leadership qualities, the ability to work in teams, make responsible decisions, analyze situations, learn from their mistakes, and more.

The selection process involved an expert panel that included UWC college professors, psychologists, and volunteers from ERIELL, Enter Engineering, and the MTO Gas Chemical Complex. All of them noted the extraordinary determination and maturity of the participants, who embody the future of Uzbekistan — young people ready to take responsibility, engage in global initiatives, and contribute to society and the state.

Every year, UWC students are given the opportunity to study under the IB Diploma program, which opens doors to the best universities in the world. Upon completing the program, graduates can apply for admission to leading academic institutions, making their education especially valuable.

The National Committee is proud of the achievements of its students: many graduates who completed their education at UWC have continued their journey at the best universities worldwide. Among them are students who have been admitted to prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Oklahoma. These achievements inspire current participants and demonstrate that an education at UWC is a key to a bright future full of opportunities.

Since the establishment of the National Committee for UWC in Uzbekistan in 2019, 23 students have been selected, and to date, 10 of them are studying at UWC colleges around the world — in Hong Kong, the United States, Armenia, Tanzania, Thailand, Italy, China, and Japan.

The final selection became an important milestone on the path to new opportunities for the country’s young people, and each participant proved that they are not just dreamers — they are ready to build the future.
