As part of the 10th anniversary conference “Oil refining and petrochemical chemistry of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea”, held from September 12 to 14, 2023 in Almaty (Kazakhstan), the expert council of the international agency Globuc Business Club noted the merits of the Gas Chemical Complex based on MTO technology in the field of ESG and sustainable development and awarded company with the “ESG Breakthrough of the Year” award.
The head of the ESG division of the Gas Chemical Complex based on MTO technology, Artem Ushakov, noted that: “This award proves that our company is advanced not only in technological solutions, but also in terms of solving such important problems as environmental protection, preservation of the historical heritage of Uzbekistan and improvement of socio-economic conditions in the regions of presence. We not only understand all the responsibility that the ‘Flagship of the Third Renaissance’ status imposes on us, but we are also taking the most active steps to ensure that our project radically changes the lives of all our citizens for the better”.
The ESG policy implemented by the company focuses on solving such relevant problems as creating jobs and ensuring decent working conditions, supporting medium and small enterprises, creating urban and rural infrastructure, using resource recycling technologies, supporting educational initiatives for the local population, and landscaping in the region of presence, reducing energy consumption through the use of solar energy, as well as combating desertification and climate change.
