A large-capacity crawler crane from XCMG (Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd.), one of the world’s largest and leading developers and manufacturers of special equipment, was delivered and assembled on the construction site of MTO Gas Chemical Complex.
With a lifting capacity of 1,700 tons, a boom reach of up to 120 meters and a maximum lifting (load) moment of up to 22,000 ton-meters, the XCMG 22000 crane will be indispensable for the installation of reactors, large-sized pumps, compressor units, flares and other oversized equipment of high tonnage and high-rise installation, essential for effective functioning of both the GCC MTO and the Karakul SEZ in general.
Tracked chassis, driven by two Mercedes engines with 360 hp each, not only ensures its high mobility, but also allows the operation of the crane in various weather conditions on a variety of types of surfaces, which is especially important as for the Bukhara region which is 90% covered by the sands of the Kyzylkum desert, and for other climatically challenging regions of Uzbekistan.
In addition to outstanding technical characteristics, the XCMG 22000 also provides a high level of comfort, ergonomics and safety — the cabin is equipped with an automatic operator seat adjustment, armrests and cup holders, a media system with USB connectors for connecting a variety of equipment, ventilation, air conditioning and heating system, windshield wipers, as well as a panoramic roof with a protective grille.
This crane model has already proven in practice that it is capable of effectively solving large-scale and technically complex tasks that arise during the construction of such large industrial facilities as the Gas Chemical Complex MTO. In October 2023, a similar crane was used to lift the filtration tower at the Paradip Refinery, one of the largest and most modern oil refineries in India, to a height of over 85 meters.
The crane was purchased by Enter Engineering, the EPC-contractor for the construction of the gas chemical complex, and will allow to efficiently perform construction works and installations of large-scale equipment during the implementation of a similar large-scale projects.
Effective and safe operation of such equipment is impossible without appropriate professional training of personnel, which is provided by invited specialists from XCMG. In the future, future crane operators will be trained by the company’s own specialists, who have appropriate training and successful work experience.
