Cleanliness is next to godliness!
Volunteers of the Gas Chemical Complex based on MTO technology (hereinafter — GCC MTO), with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Department of Cultural Heritage of Bukhara region, actively took part in the celebration of World Environment Day and cleaned large areas near Charvak reservoir in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, as well as in the historical monument — the ancient settlement “Ancient Paykent” in Bukhara region.
The actions, held on June 4 and 5, 2023, organized by the Department of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) of the MCC MTO, gathered under their flags several dozens of people both from the Company’s management office, located in Tashkent, and employees employed directly at the complex construction site in Karakul District, Bukhara Region, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The issue of environmental pollution by household garbage is especially relevant for the sites of the action, which are the favorite vacation spots for citizens and guests of the Republic of Uzbekistan and, therefore, often suffer from both excessive garbage and lack of places for its collection.
Only within two days of the action volunteers from the GCC MTO collected over a hundred kilograms of plastic, paper, metal and glass. Specialized vehicles provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan transported all garbage for disposal and the collected recyclable materials were sent for further processing.
According to Artem Ushakov, a representative of the ESG Department of the GCC MTO, "Such one-time actions certainly have a positive effect on the environmental situation, but we must keep in mind that this is only a temporary solution. It is vitally important for all of us to make it a rule to treat nature with care, handle waste as carefully as possible, sort garbage and do everything possible to recycle it. It is how we treat the environment today that shapes not only our lives, but also the future of our children and grandchildren.
The staff of the Gas Chemical Complex based on MTO technology is sincerely grateful to the Ministry of Natural Resources for their assistance in the activities, as well as for the constant work aimed at the most effective implementation of national and international programs to improve the environmental situation.

Gas chemical complex based on MTO technology will be the largest producer of polymer raw materials in Uzbekistan. The annual volume of products — over 1,100,000 tons.
The strategy of the project provides reduction of the negative impact on the environment to the minimum practicable level by using the best available technologies and equipment.
Mott MacDonald, an international consultant, was engaged to assess the Project’s environmental and social impact and proposed mitigation measures, which are being successfully implemented.
Socio-environmental practices implemented at GCC MTO with the standards of international financial development institutions, including the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
